Robot Arm Catches Flying Objects
Has 4 fingers
3 jointed hand
the machine uses its cameras to predict the path of a flying object and grab it in less than five hundredths of a second
Fast-reacting robotic limbs have many potential applications.
They could be used on satellites to clean up some of the space junk in orbit, or on cars to reach out and break an impact.

Do now

On my computer, i keep things very organized by sectioning the names. For example, I keep my pictures organized by putting captions on them and saving them into the same folder. This helps show where i can find my pictures and it makes things a lot easier. Tagging means to label or to attach something, you could tag your friends in photos, statuses, etc. Social Bookmarking means people can post URLs of any website online. An example of Social Bookmarking is Diigo. These two terms are important in the digital age because now people can organize there computers easily.

Letter Writing Project Tool

The tool I used in Mr. Porfido's was the Letter Writing Project. The subject I can use this in would be Enlgish and the teacher that can use this would be Miss Hunter. We can use this in class for writing letters, or essays. Knowing how to write letters is good because it is a skill you will need all through high school and college.

Social Media Advice

Social media advice for career-minded students. 10 things to consider.

Lisa Nielsen's article on advice for students who use social media is really interesting. She talks about who you should an should not post. She interviewed people who agreed with her. They stated to watch what you post. Anyone can see everything you post and just because you are on "private" isn't always true. Someone is always looking at what you post. Especially if it's for a job, college, etc. Lay of the swearing and think before you type.

the DoorBot

The DoorBot attaches to the front door jamb of a house, where the doorbell would normally go. Once connected to your home Wi-Fi, it alerts your smartphone whenever someone is at the door. You can then peer at them through the device’s camera and talk to them through two-way audio. That way, you can give them instructions if you’re not home.

Lunello Restaurant

My favorite restaurant is called LuNello. I go there on special occasions and with my friends and family. It is located in Cedar Grove, Nj. All the food is Italian, even the waiters. Every waiter has an Italian accent and they are all men. Although the place is expensive, the food is amazing.
For my appetizers, my family gets the fresh mozzarella and tomato salad with balsamic dressing. Then for my entree I get either a homemade pasta dish or chicken parm. When the waiter comes to take your order he tells us over 40 specials which he has memorized. You can get anything you want from this restaurant as long as its Italian. You can even request dishes if you don't find anything you like.
All the reviews on LuNellos are positive. Also they        are mostly five stars. The decor and the scenery is what really draws people in. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves their endless choices. Lunellos is the place to go!

Soccket Energy Ball

Soccket This ball is more than an ordinary soccer ball. Its actually an energy source.
Kicking it for about 30 minutes, the use of internal mechanisms and kinetic
energy is converted into about three hours of electricity, enough to power a
cell phone. The idea is to bring electricity and light to parts of the world that
have poor power. I think that this ball has the power to help an issue in
our developing world in a fun easy way.
The inventors are looking for this invention to expand into other sports in the future. Click Here to view this invention.

Why Are Spreadsheets Useful?

Spreadsheets are something that can be used in classrooms,
at a job, or to do with sports, etc.
It's an easier way to organize data even in many different charts.
Organizing data in different ways makes it easier for
people to read the chart. You can order data into rows
or columns. Some charts can even be colorful to help
people understand the data/products better.

It was created by Jose Julio and he got the idea from his daughter always wanting someone to play air hockey with. He used a 3D printer hack that allows you to play a robot in a fun new way of playing the game of air hockey.

This is the new crazy way to help referees determine goals at the 2014 World Cup.
The Goal Line Technology used 14 cameras to track the ball as it passes the goal line.
This system shows the ball's position in 3D to within a few millimeters.
If the ball crosses the goal line, the system sends a signal to the referee's watch in less than a second.

One of the classes that I am taking this year is biology. In the beginning of the year we had Ms. Pielch, now we have Mrs. Sistarnik. We were expected to learn about the study of life, and what goes on in cells everyday. The teacher grades the same as any other teacher. We don't get a lot of homework but the projects are fun. We use the overhead projector and the teacher's computer to copy down our notes. Even though we have a hard teacher, she helps me and my classmates a lot.
